Rhode Island Teams Head To Cooperstown Dreams Park For A Memorable Baseball Experience
Last fall, I had the great fortune to “stumble” upon the Cooperstown Dream Park in Cooperstown, NY. I was staying in the area doing a story on Rhode Island players who have a connection with the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. One night I decided to find the Hall of Fame without the benefit of a map or GPS, choosing to let my baseball tracking system (BTS) guide me to the village and museum. I got lost and went the wrong way, or did I? On my left, I discovered a park that I had only seen in photos my baseball friends had shared with me over the years. That park was the Cooperstown Dream Park.

Since it was fall, no tournaments were being played and the park was officially closed to the public. Two facts I learned as I drove into the park and was stopped by a nice lady who explained the situation and that tournaments would start back up in the Spring of 2022.
Fast forward to this week and through baseball friends on social media, I have learned that two Rhode Island teams are competing at Cooperstown Dreams Park in a tournament this week. Some of the team representatives and parents have already sent me photos and updates from the week and I would like to share those photos with you now. Regardless of the scores, these Rhode Island players, coaches, families, and organizations will have the baseball experience of a lifetime in Cooperstown this week. Here are just some of the photos I have received:

“The Rhode Island Rays 12u AAU team is in Cooperstown this week. Greg Fleury won the Homerun Derby after 4 rounds in the finals.”

New England Jaguars team meeting – coaches and players huddled together to strategize on their next baseball moves.

And one last one with the teams photographed at the Cooperstown Dreams Park sign, which sits in field to the left of the entrance to the massive baseball complex. Two teams of Rhode Island players experiencing the Cooperstown Dreams Park experience!

New England Jaguars, RI Rays players, coaches, and families – have a blast this week and great job representing Rhode Island baseball there in beautiful and oh so memorable Cooperstown, NY!
