Open Tryout Information For Local Amateur Summer Baseball Leagues
Over the past few years, I have had the great opportunity to interview some of the top collegiate baseball players from not only here in Rhode Island, but across the USA. Many of these baseball players will play in summer collegiate baseball leagues here in Rhode Island, or in other New England states, or across the USA – showcasing their talents in front of family, friends, and professional baseball scouts. And many of these baseball players are placed by their school/university/college coaching staff into a summer collegiate baseball league program, as I have learned from the players themselves. But what if you weren’t placed in the New England Collegiate Baseball League or the Cape Cod Baseball League and want an opportunity to play in a top notch summer collegiate baseball league this summer? Here are a few options for open tryouts that are just a short drive from Rhode Island:
The Cranberry Baseball League will have league tryouts on Thursday, May 19th at 7pm at Rockland Stadium, Rockland, MA. There is a $30 fee to tryout, pre-register or $50 if you pay the day of the tryout. You can learn more about the Cranberry League, register for tryouts, or check out their history by clicking on this link – Cranberry League.

The Futures League (FCBL) will hold their annual open tryout on Friday May 20th at Campanelli Stadium, Brockton, MA at 9:00am. The tryout fee is $50. The Futures League will have representatives from each team’s coaching staff in attendance. Only current NCAA or NAIA athletes are eligible to tryout and play in the Futures League. For more information, head over to their website for all things Futures League – The Futures League.

I also wanted to give a shoutout to a frequent contributor to the Rhode Island Baseball Experience, Zorian Bats. They are the official sponsor of the Futures League Open Tryout. You can learn more about Zorian Bats by clicking this link – Zorian Bats.

Good luck to all the players trying out for the Cranberry League and the Futures League.
