RIPCOA Posts Rhode Island Middle School Baseball Schedule, Standings, Playoff Bracket

The Rhode Island Principal’s Committee On Athletics (RIPCOA) has a brand new website in 2022 and has recently updated their baseball page. This page includes the current schedule of games for the 4 Divisions (Northern, Eastern, Southern, Central) as well as the current standings (wins, losses as of May 5), and the upcoming playoff bracket (yet to be filled out). Based on the divisional schedules, the regular season for many schools is finishing up tomorrow, Thursday May 12th. Each Rhode Island Middle School Baseball team had a schedule of 9 games. However, in the case of weather delayed or postponed games, games can be made up and played up to May 18th, Wednesday, according to the RIPCOA Playoff Information link. Here are the standings (of schools that reported wins, losses to RIPCOA) as reported up to May 5th:

Based on the standings and reported games, it looks like there are a number of undefeated teams this year. Very cool!!! And now here is how the brackets and playoffs will look for the 2022 Rhode Island Middle School Baseball Tournament:

The note at the bottom of the playoff bracket reads “Teams with a higher seed will be the host/home team. In the event that both teams have the same seed (semi-finals or finals), the division with the best winning percentage among their four playoff teams will be the host/home team.” First Round of playoff games is scheduled to start May 19th or May 20th. The finals will be played at East Providence’s Pierce Memorial Field, tentatively scheduled for June 2nd.
