Strikeout Cancer Game, Home Run Derby Events, Home Runs Hit, And Player Profiles Updated
Every day, I am so psyched to open my email, my inbox, my message centers and read all the great baseball stories from my Rhode Island Baseball Community members. Parents email event updates, coaches email me exciting news and player achievements, leagues email me important news to inform others. It is so awesome to read and have the opportunity to share this baseball news statewide with you. Here are some news stories that hit my message centers this week:
Got an message this week from East Providence Central Little League – “We will be hosting the T-Mobile Home Run Derby contest on Saturday May 7th & Pierce Field at 3pm for both Softball and Baseball. Players ages 9-12 are eligible to participate you must be signed up with a local little league to participate. Any questions feel free to email us at info.epcll@gmail.com”

From Richard Hemphill of Olneyville Little League at Silver Lake– – an exciting program announcement (and stay tuned for an article shortly) regarding a brand new baseball facility located at the YWCA in Providence. See the photos and flyers for details and be sure to check out my featured article on the Strike Zone Program in a few days:
Post on Warren Little League’s Facebook page – “WLL parents, players, family and friends make sure to check out the Mt Hope Huskey Baseball team this coming Friday May 6th as they host the Barrington Eagles at Guiteras Field in Bristol. ALL proceeds from this game will be donated to the Jimmy Fund and Dana Farber Cancer Institutes. Please make sure to come out an support this great event hosted by both Coach Mike Mazzarella and Coach Vin Scandura !!!”

Player Profile Update – Jayce Bissette: “Just wanted to share a photo, recap of the ASFMS v Scituate on Wednesday April 27th and Jayce’s batting average for ASFMS this season. He is the leader within the team.”

From Anchor Sports – “Anchor Sports Baseball Camp is for all players from beginner and advanced level play at each age. Camp will be instructed by college level and above players and coaches, with assistance from current college and high school baseball players. Instruction will focus on each element of the game, including hitting, fielding, base running and game situations. In addition, there will be fun, competitive competitions each day (pickle, tennis-ball baseball, speed drills). Former Bishop Hendricken High School and RI Gatorade Player of the Year, current Chipola College Indian Tucker Flint – “Sophomore Tucker Flint was named the Panhandle’s Player of the Year after leading the Indians with a .374 batting average and 14 home runs. Flint started every game and hit safely in 42 of the Indians’ 52 games. From March 19 until April 16, Flint had a 16-game hit streak and helped the Indians to a 12-4 record during that span.”

The RIBBE is The Rhode Island Baseball Experience. It is promoting the game of baseball here in the great state of Rhode Island for the entire baseball world to see. The RIBBE is positive stories, photos, videos, and responsible social media posts. The RIBBE is an information resource for families looking for an AAU team or a summer camp or a great place to buy a first baseman’s mitt. The RIBBE is a network of coaches, tournament directors, parents, leagues, and baseball junkies whose passion of the game of baseball is unquestioned. I believe that providing expert analysis, information and directions to ballfields, and coaching advice from some of the top RI baseball minds will help promote the game of baseball here in RI to a whole new level.
