Salve Regina Baseball Ranked #24 In 2022 Pre-Season Division III Poll

I got a message last night from Head Baseball Coach Eric Cirella of Newport’s Salve Regina University. “Wanted you to see this,” was the text and he shared a link to a recent collegiate baseball poll:

The post is from The Collegiate Baseball Newspaper – “Collegiate Baseball newspaper is a tabloid publication based in Tucson, Arizona that is dedicated to covering college and high school baseball nationwide. The publication was established in 1957 and is published twice a month from January to May and once in June, July, September and October (14 issues total). Here is the link to their website, which showcases the poll and Rhode Island’s #24 ranked Salve Regina Baseball Club – Collegiate Baseball Newspaper.

The news carried over to Instagram, where I snipped this photo, one of several featuring the Division 1, 2, 3, and NAIA pre-season rankings. There are Salve Regina Seahawks, sitting at #24! And I don’t know about you but I’m going with a Seahawk over a Sea Gull 24/7/365!!!

Congrats to Head Coach Eric Cirella, his coaching staff, the players, and baseball operations at Salve Regina University on your nationally ranked status! And thanks for the heads up, Coach!
