On a recent business trip to Baltimore for ABF Freight, I spent some personal time visiting Joe Cannon Stadium in nearby Hanover, Maryland. With my work commitment scheduled for later in the morning, I took a few minutes to tour the perimeter of the home field of Coppin State University. Coppin State happens to have a Rhode Island Pitcher on their roster (as of 2023 season) named Gio Canales, whom I have had the good luck in interviewing (Gio Canales). So, on my Baltimore work trip I got to experience a connection to Rhode Island. Not bad!!!
Conveniently for me, there is a large hill behind the center field fence that I climbed and got a few shots of the field. The field is located inside a beautiful park with walking trails, covered tents for picnics and functions, and tons of recreational options for local Marylanders.
Joe Cannon was just about 10 minutes from work, so I took a few walks around the park on Tuesday morning, which was an absolutely stunning late summer day. Can’t miss the water tower in left field, it has be a blessing/distraction for some hitters. Nice looking baseball field in a fantastic park. Great visit to Joe Cannon Stadium.
