Rumford Little League Proud To Host Another Successful Wounded Warrior Tournament
I read this incredibly inspiring post in my Facebook group page “Something Off” this week from Rumford Little League President Eddie Wencis and wanted to share it with you. Rumford Little League, in addition to providing excellent youth baseball programs every year since 1951, also hosts post Spring, post District All Star tournaments at their baseball complex. The Scott Grace and the Wounded Warrior Tournaments require a ton of community support, volunteers, and hard work to manage every year. And every year, these tournaments hosted and run by Rumford Little League are some of the best attended and most memorable of all the summer youth baseball tournaments here in Rhode Island baseball. Here is more from Rumford Little League and Eddie Wencis on this year’s successful Wounded Warrior Tournament:

“We are extremely proud to announce the final tally for our Wounded Warrior Tournament this summer. We were able to raise over $3,000 for this incredible cause!! thank you to all the teams, volunteers and our phenomenal league for all their hard work and dedication! The Rumford Community was out in full force helping over the weekend in the shack and on the grounds. We have a beautiful facility thanks to our volunteers and the city of EP!”

Thank you Eddie and to all the Rumford Little League board members and volunteers for making youth sports and community service and charity a priority in your community. You are all winners, you are all All-Stars in my book and I appreciate all that you do for the Rhode Island Baseball Community!!!

The RIBBE is The Rhode Island Baseball Experience. It is promoting the game of baseball here in the great state of Rhode Island for the entire baseball world to see. The RIBBE is positive stories, photos, videos, and responsible social media posts. The RIBBE is an information resource for families looking for an AAU team or a summer camp or a great place to buy a first baseman’s mitt. The RIBBE is a network of coaches, tournament directors, parents, leagues, and baseball junkies whose passion of the game of baseball is unquestioned. I believe that providing expert analysis, information and directions to ballfields, and coaching advice from some of the top RI baseball minds will help promote the game of baseball here in RI to a whole new level.
