A Summer Sunday Rhode Island Baseball Photo Caption Extravaganza

Happy Summer Sunday in July everyone. Wow, we have Ocean State Waves vs Newport Gulls in the Pell Bridge Series to chat about. Rachel and I attended a Cape Cod Baseball League game last night featuring the Wareham Gatemen vs the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox (with RIC’s Shaun Gamelin in the bullpen.) Rhode Island District All Star games were played all over the state yesterday. Boston Open 2022 has a ton of RI teams representing RI baseball and performing at really high level. NEAAU Super Division 14U clubs battling it out to make it to today’s semifinals and finals games. More AAU, Travel, and Showcase team tryouts announced. Lot to discuss, so let’s let the photos do the talking.

Wow, have a day @banditsbaseballri 16U club! Look at those eye popping stats facing top competition in the 2022 Boston Open. Complete games by both pitchers, Torres with the no-no, tons of RBIs, multi-hit games. Way to represent RI baseball – Ocean State Bandits!!!

Great catching up with RIC’s Shaun Gamelin, who was in the bullpen for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox tonight. Awesome RI baseball talent and wow what an opportunity for Shaun this summer in the Cape Cod Baseball League! Game was at Spillane Field, home of the Wareham Gatemen, and just a block or two from my Mom’s childhood home on Sawyer St.

Wareham Gatemen vs Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox, left field bleacher view of the Cape Cod Baseball League. What a night of incredible baseball. The talent on the field was beyond words.

Getting a ton of tryout information for AAU, Travel, and Showcase Tournament teams for 2023. I will post them all on my social media pages as soon as I get them in. Here is one for the RI Rays Baseball Club, that will be held in North Kingstown on Saturday August 13th. Click on the QR code for further details.

Had my eye on social media posts last night while I was in Wareham – Waves with the 4-0 win over the Gulls to even the Pell Bridge Series. By the way, both teams are having tremendous seasons and the fans have really been coming out in big numbers to watch this top baseball talent all summer long. Waves travel to MV today to take on the Sharks. The Gulls are home tomorrow night at Cardines vs North Shore Navigators.

2022 RI Little League District All Stars – Junior Division update: South Kingstown Little League (my two nephews Jackson, Finley Hohl are on the roster) moves on and will be hosting Coventry Little League today at Broad Rock Field, Wakefield at 5:30pm. Good luck to all the players, coaches, and families today in District 3 Juniors!!!

Rhode Island Travel Baseball Tryout Update – RI Devils Baseball Organization will be hosting tryouts at Davis Park, Providence on Wednesdays in August – August 3rd and August 10th. Age range is 14-18. Any questions, message @ridevils

Congrats to the 2022 Rhode Island District 2 Little League Juniors Division Champs – Barrington Little League. Awesome job players, coaches, and yes the families for supporting youth sports here in Rhode Island, like baseball. Good luck in the state finals!!!

Saw this in my Twitter Feed this morning – LaSalle Academy and Bryant University Baseball’s Jacob Gaudreau, who plays for the Mansfield Destroyers (cool name) of the NYCBL will be one of the many featured players in the 2022 NYCBL All Star Game. Gaudreau and the Western All Stars will take on the Eastern All Stars Monday July 11th at 3pm. Awesome job representing RI Baseball!!!

Quoting Jason from GLG Performance, “Not a bad day at the pahk with one of my favorites – Mike King. #baseball #yankees #mlb #glgfam Seriously, Michael King of the New York Yankees is one of the best relievers in all of baseball. And he grew up pitching in our state not too, too long ago. Wow!!!

Just getting home tonight and seeing a few updates and some awesome photos from Warwick Continental American Little League and the 11U Districts – “WCA won 11u Mike Sabetta and Drew Zablocki pitched moving on to South Kingstown Monday” and “Big 6-2 win for 11U WCA over EG!!. Headed to play SK Monday and Tuesday for districts!” Great photos capturing summer baseball here in Rhode Island!

Great article spotlighting just some of the players who have played in the New England Collegiate Baseball League and went on to play professional baseball in “The Show.” Wherever you live in New England, make it a point this summer to catch an NECBL game. Like the article suggests, who will be #200?

Busy day yesterday in the 2022 NEAAU 14U Super Division Playoffs. 4 Teams remain – DJB Bulldogs, Ocean State Outlaws (Monahan), Strike Zone, Triple Play Baseball Garner. Semifinals and Finals are being played this morning at Slater Park, Pawtucket. Good luck DJB and Outlaws players, coaches, and families today!!!

Like a Shaun Gamelin fastball, the Rhode Island Summer Baseball action is coming at you fast and furious!!! Speaking of Shaun, it was really great to chat with him last night at the game. And great catching up with all of the Rhode Island baseball news last night and into this morning. Rhode Island Baseball Experiences are popping up all over New England this summer and I am so psyched to share all the amazing photos and news with the Rhode Island Baseball Community – the best community of fans in the USA!!!
