Introducing Nick Lemley, Summer Intern Reporting On The Rhode Island Baseball Experiences Across New England
I am very excited to announce that my coverage of the Rhode Island Baseball Experience just got a little better. This winter, I posted an internship opportunity with local colleges and universities with the goal of bringing on a creative writer who can help me share the positive news about Rhode Island baseball players, games, events, sponsors, volunteers, and more. I received several applicants and after careful review, I chose URI’s Nick Lemley. I asked Nick to introduce himself to you and without further interruption, please welcome Nick Lemley:
My name is Nick Lemley. I am from Fairfield, CT and a recent URI graduate with a degree in Sports Media Communication. I’m an avid baseball fan and have been following the Yankees for as long as I can remember. I have many fond memories of T-ball, Little League, and my Summer All Star team from middle school. Sports in general is a passion and beyond baseball; soccer, hockey and wrestling are sports I follow closely. At URI I was involved in the Sports Journalism club called Anchor Sports Network, where I collaborated with editors and bloggers to generate ideas and stories regarding breaking news and interesting facts to post about on our social media accounts as well as our website. In addition to the Sports Journalism club, I spend a lot of time watching and studying video analysis of key players, clubs and manager tactics for my teams of interest. I truly enjoy diving into the inner workings of clubs and players as it helps my appreciation for the different sports I follow.

I am excited about the opportunity to create positive baseball content to help
support Rhode Island’s baseball community.
Welcome Nick and I am so excited to read about your journeys all summer, all over New England capturing Rhode Island baseball games, tournaments, summer collegiate baseball, amateur league and independent league action, and much more. And equally excited to be expanding my coverage of all the amazing Rhode Island teams, players, events, fundraisers that make the Rhode Island Baseball Experience so unique and so special to all of us.
If you have a family member, a college friend, or know a good Rhode Island Baseball Experience story for Nick to follow up on here or outside of Rhode Island, we are taking suggestions. Here is a contact form you can fill out that I can review with Nick, as his assignment calendar is filling up very, very fast with some great baseball already on his radar happening in June and July!!!

The RIBBE is The Rhode Island Baseball Experience. It is promoting the game of baseball here in the great state of Rhode Island for the entire baseball world to see. The RIBBE is positive stories, photos, videos, and responsible social media posts. The RIBBE is an information resource for families looking for an AAU team or a summer camp or a great place to buy a first baseman’s mitt. The RIBBE is a network of coaches, tournament directors, parents, leagues, and baseball junkies whose passion of the game of baseball is unquestioned. I believe that providing expert analysis, information and directions to ballfields, and coaching advice from some of the top RI baseball minds will help promote the game of baseball here in RI to a whole new level.
