2022 Rhode Island High School State Tournament Brackets Released

The 2022 Rhode Island Interscholastic League (RIIL) State Baseball Tournament brackets are now complete. Rhode Island High School baseball had a tremendous return to normalcy this season, starting on time, finishing about on time plus or minus a few days, and giving the Rhode Island Baseball Community something to cheer for day after day. The home runs, the no-hitters, the safety squeezes, the walk off wins, the upsets, and the triumphs are all in the record books now for 2022. So, let’s get to the brackets and see how the Division 1, 2, and 3 Tournaments shape up:

A few story lines to note as we head into the preliminary rounds starting this Monday, May 31st. First, in Division 2 – no Middletown High School to attempt to repeat as D2 State Champions. Same can be said for Division 3, as Hope High School is not in the mix to repeat as State Champions. The incredible run for North Kingstown High School that carried them to a Division1 State Title has continued in 2022, as North Kingstown enjoyed a very successful season and is a top seed in the Division 1 State Brackets. Here are the top seeds in each Division, which have earned them a bye in the opening round of games:

Division 1
- Bishop Hendricken High School
- North Kingstown High School
Division 2
- Westerly High School
- Woonsocket High School
Division 3
- North Smithfield High School
- Classical High School

Preliminary, quarterfinals, semifinals games will be played all over the Rhode Island High School baseball network of amazing fields. Family, friends, classmates, and fans will line the backstops, bleachers, and outfield fences to catch a glimpse of Rhode Island baseball history in the making. The finals will take place at Rhode Island College’s Pontarelli Field, which is an absolutely incredible baseball field to watch a game.
