Rhode Island Little League Organizations Participate in Lift Your League Fundraiser

Rhode Island youth sports organizations, such as Little League®, are looking to rebound in 2021 in more ways than one. Getting the youth of Rhode Island back on the field safely is a top priority for these organizations. Field cleanups are being scheduled, baseballs are being ordered, league meetings are heating up in anticipation of tryouts and eventually, GAMES!!! However, getting their operations up and running after losing a year of sponsorships, snack shack sales, home run derbies, and other revenue generating events is proving to be very challenging for some RI leagues. In the pre-season especially, online fundraisers are a safe and effective means of drawing fans to the needs of a league. And as we approach Opening Day for Rhode Island baseball organizations, several Little League® groups have turned to “Lift Your League.”

According to the official website of Little League®, http://www.littleleague.org, “In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, Little League programs across the country are facing unprecedented challenges and severe financial hardships, and now is the time for us to all rally together. As we look ahead to getting our communities back onto the field in 2021, Little League and Stack Raise have teamed up to create a secure and easy-to-use online fundraising platform to help local leagues raise the money they need and tell the next chapter in the Little League story.” On the Lift Your League page, you can search for your local Little League organization by using the “League Finder” tool. You can either search for your specific league, or just enter your physical address into the search bar. Here are the results I found when I entered my North Kingstown home address:

If you hover over (mouse or index finger) a league listed above, you can then click and it will redirect you to their Lift Your League fundraiser page. Each page describes who they are, their history as a youth organization, and some facts about their league’s presence in Rhode Island baseball. For example, when you click on Portsmouth Little League, here is what pops up:

I love this feature because it helps explain just where the donation is going and why they need your donation. Signage, equipment, seating, dugout upgrades – every league could use these important league necessities and especially in a rebound year. If you have questions about the Lift Your League fundraiser, there is a useful FAQ section which you can access by clicking here – Lift Your League FAQ.

Please share with others in the Rhode Island baseball community so these Rhode Island Little Leagues can get some additional financial support this year. And good luck to all of the leagues participating in the Lift Your League fundraiser.
