Prep Baseball Report New England Releases Top Prospect Lists

Prep Baseball Report is a national scouting organization that provides year round coverage of amateur baseball players. Their mission statement, according to their website (www.prepbaseballreport.com) reads: “The mission of the Prep Baseball Report is to scout and promote amateur baseball – high school, junior college and college – and, ultimately, help athletes achieve their dreams of playing baseball at the next level. With more than 150 scouts, we have the largest baseball scouting infrastructure across all levels of amateur baseball in the country.” It is no wonder why Prep Baseball Report is one of the most respected baseball scouting organizations and a must-read website for all things baseball.

To cover the entirety of amateur baseball here in the United States, Prep Baseball Report (PBR) splits into state and regional coverage. Here in Rhode Island, we fall under the PBR – New England section. You can find their website link at www.prepbaseballreport.com/new-england. There you can find prospect reports, tournament updates, showcase events, scout day information, and so much more. Player profiles with their position, school, year of graduation, and photos are found throughout the site. This is a fantastic site for players and their families to market themselves to prospective colleges, universities, even professional leagues. And, for the colleges, universities, and professional leagues PBR – New England supplies critical data so scouts can make informed decisions on signing.

Because I focus my writing on Rhode Island based players, a few recent lists really caught my eye. These snapshots of Top 10 Prospects are from the PBR – New England’s website and are the content and creation of PBR- New England. I wanted to acknowledge a few RI baseball players who made these very impressive lists.

2024 List are incoming freshman baseball players entering into their first year of high school. To make this list, means you are seriously on the radar of local and regional scouts. Two RI players caught my eye. John Mass, SS, Portsmouth, RI was the number 5 prospect out of 10. Braeden Campbell, C, North Kingstown, RI was the number 8 prospect on this list. Congrats to John and Braeden for making this list.
2023 List have one year of high school baseball on their resume, typically. These players are making their mark not only regionally but starting to gain national attention in major showcase events and scout days. Alex Clemmey, LHP, Bishop Hendricken High School, is the number 3 prospect on this list. Clemmey has already verbally committed to Vanderbuilt University and by most accounts has a very high ceiling in the baseball world. Side note, #1 ranked Thomas White is considered by many scouts to be the most impressive prospect at his age, in the entire country.
2022 List have a few years of competitive high school baseball, showcase events, major national tournament exposure, and have verbally committed to major college baseball programs. Ben Brutti, RHP, South Kingstown High School is the number 4 prospect on this list. Brandyn Durand, C, Bishop Hendricken High School, is the number 6 ranked prospect for the Class of 2022.

The 2021 List did not include any Rhode Island players but here is the snapshot of that list.

Congratulations to all the players and their families for making this incredible Top 10 List of Prospects. Hugh accomplishment and the chance at national exposure for these amazing baseball players from Rhode Island and other New England states. I will continue to monitor PBR- New England’s website for more great regional coverage of some of the top baseball players Rhode Island has to offer. And once more, the website for Prep Baseball Report is www.prepbaseballreport.com.
