2019 Rhode Island Little League State Champions Are Crowned
Rhode Island Little League has four divisions that each play a District Tournament upon the completion of the Spring regular season. District 1, District 2, District 3, and District 4 play a double elimination tournament for their 10U, 11U, 12U, Juniors, and Seniors Divisions. Then, the District tournament champions face off against each other in another double elimination tournament to determine the Rhode Island Little League State Champion for their respective division. The Seniors Division Champion for Rhode Island was crowned earlier this month – Elmwood Little League – and they went onto their Regional Tournament, which was held last week in Bangor, ME. Congrats to Elmwood Little League Seniors for a great run in the District, State, and then Regional Tournament.
As for the 10U, 11U, 12U, and Juniors Divisions, here is how their Rhode Island State Tournaments played out:
10U State Champion – Cranston Western Little League, next stop is the Eastern Regional Tournament which is also hosted by Cranston Western Little League
11U State Champion – North Kingstown/Wickford Little League, next stop is the Eastern Regional Tournament which is hosted by Beverly Little League, Beverly, MA
12U State Champion – Barrington Little League, next stop is the New England Regionals Tournament, broadcast on ESPN, and taking place in Bristol, CT
Juniors State Champion – Johnston Little League, next stop is the Eastern Regionals Tournament which is being played in Freehold Township, NJ
