Gulls MEDIA RELEASE – Christmas In July Returns to Cardines Field
Christmas In July Returns to Cardines Field
NEWPORT, R.I. –Monday, July 2 will be the Gulls second annual “Christmas in July” as Newport takes on the Upper Valley Nighthawks (VT). Fans are asked to bring a new toy to be donated to Lucy’s Hearth of Middletown and in return will receive free family (4) admission. Lucy’s Hearth is a center that provides shelter and support for homeless women and their children.

Historic Cardines Field will be turned into a winter wonderland for the event and Santa Claus will travel down from the North Pole to join in the festivities.
Last year’s Christmas in July saw 2,876 fans pack into Cardines Field and over 200 toys were donated to families in need. This year’s event will take place during the second game of a double header as a result of the June 24 rainout in White River Junction, VT.
First pitch will be at 6:35 PM with gates opening at 5:00 PM. Please help the Newport Gulls emulate 2017’s success by joining in a wonderful night in benefit of a remarkable cause.
