Top Rhode Island Baseball Talent Slated To Play In New England Collegiate Baseball League
The New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) is a summer collegiate baseball league featuring 14 teams spread out all over New England. Rhode Island has two teams that compete in the NECBL – the Ocean State Waves and the Newport Gulls. If you look at the rosters of these NECBL teams (and trust me I have many times), you will see players from top collegiate baseball programs, players who have won player of the year awards, some nationally ranked in terms of their MLB draft status, and overall – some incredibly talented baseball players. On the roster page for each team, it lists the player, their position, their school(college or university), and their hometown, home state. And of course, I focus in on the Rhode Island talent who are slated to join NECBL teams this and every summer. Here is a list of players (as of June 1) that I found who will suiting up for one of the 14 NECBL teams this summer:

- Bristol Blues
- MT Morrissey, Bryant University, Portsmouth
- Cal Parrillo, Rhode Island College, Johnston
- Martha’s Vineyard Sharks
- Zachary Clesas, Wheaton College, Johnston
- Matt Woods, Bryant University, Warwick
- Mystic Schooners
- Addison Kopack, URI, Cumberland
- Tucker Flint, UNC- Greensboro, East Greenwich
- North Adams Steeplechasers
- Randy Reyes, Central Connecticut State, Providence
- Ocean State Waves
- Jake Studley, Wheaton College, Barrington
- Nick Conte, Duke University, North Providence
- Alex Ramirez, URI, Warwick
- Valley Blue Sox
- Andrew Sears, Rhode Island College, West Warwick
- Terry Murray, Rhode Island College, Providence

Rosters are subject to change with the upcoming Major League Baseball draft as well as with injuries, calls from other leagues, and a host of other summer related situations like weddings. I mention that because the roster today may not look like the roster tomorrow or even Opening Day. Here is the link to the 2022 NECBL game schedule, which begins next Tuesday, June 7th with 6 games scheduled all over New England’s finest baseball fields. I am really looking forward to watching this talented group of Rhode Island collegiate baseball players compete in one of the best summer collegiate baseball leagues in the entire country!
