Anchor Sports Open House Saturday April 16th

April is an amazing time of year for Rhode Island baseball and I look forward to attending as many games and events as I can. Lucky for me, I have an incredible network of Rhode Island baseball community members who share photos, posts, videos, game footages, and upcoming events with me. Like this one from Anchor Sports and owner Josh Rosen:

“Anchor Sports will be having an #OPENHOUSE on Saturday, April 16th (11am -2pm). So join us for FUN, FOOD & GIVEAWAYS!!! Hit #LIVEBP. Try #Pickleball#LongDriveContest & Closest to the pin in our Golf Experience, MEET OUR INSTRUCTORS, play space for #LittleAnchors will be set up also. There will be a visit by SPLASH from the @oceanstatewaves with some gear to giveaway and a ribbon cutting by @srichamber – Don’t miss out and come visit Anchor Sports – 217 Church Street, Wakefield, Rhode Island.”

If you haven’t been to Anchor Sports yet, this Saturday April 16th is the perfect opportunity. When I visited Josh and Anchor Sports in January (Anchor Sports blog), I was really impressed by the smart and effective use of space in his facility. Josh was great, a real baseball guy, he coached my nephew Jackson Hohl in the fall of 2021. The Little Anchors program was a pilot program then, now a mainstay. The Golf section was just a thought and idea then, now a part of the facility’s programming. The Live BP, the Pickleball court, the batting cages, the pro shop, the impressive roster of instructors – just some of the amazing perks of Anchor Sports. The Southern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce will down for a ribbon cutting ceremony, which brings out supportive business leaders in and around the South County area. And now the announcement that Splash from the Ocean State Waves, who play their home games less than a mile from Anchor Sports at Old Mountain Field, will be in attendance! What more do you need to get down to Anchor Sports on Saturday?

That’s what I thought. See you in South Kingstown this Saturday, April 16h. Event starts at 11am and runs until 2pm, per the event’s flyer. Here is more on Anchor Sports.

The RIBBE is The Rhode Island Baseball Experience. It is promoting the game of baseball here in the great state of Rhode Island for the entire baseball world to see. The RIBBE is positive stories, photos, videos, and responsible social media posts. The RIBBE is an information resource for families looking for an AAU team or a summer camp or a great place to buy a first baseman’s mitt. The RIBBE is a network of coaches, tournament directors, parents, leagues, and baseball junkies whose passion of the game of baseball is unquestioned. I believe that providing expert analysis, information and directions to ballfields, and coaching advice from some of the top RI baseball minds will help promote the game of baseball here in RI to a whole new level.
