2022 Rhode Island Baseball Scouting Report – RI Devils Winter College Showcase Preview

This is an exciting new venture for the Rhode Island Baseball Experience – scouting reports for the Rhode Island Baseball Community written by players, coaches, parents, grandparents, or league administrators. These are players looking for some press, maybe to join an AAU program, maybe to get some local high school exposure statewide, and possibly the attention collegiate coaches and pro scouts. So, without any further interruptions and courtesy of Coach Joe Coelho, RI Devils, I introduce 5 players to watch in next week’s RI Devils Baseball Winter College Showcase event happening at Pawtucket’s ATC Facility:

Max DeLuca, Classical High School, 2022. OF/2B. Very strong defensively with good speed.

Anthony Cruz, Central High School, 2023. 2B. Really fast and constantly hits for high average.

Damon Asencio, Cranston East High School, 2023. MIF (middle infielder). Smooth MIF with quick hands. Really fast and continues to develop.

Charlie Tarara, Cumberland High School, 2023. 3B. A new RI Devil addition for Summer 2022. Big bat and a strong arm at the hot corner.

Alan Carpenter, Chariho High School, 2023. C/SS (Catcher/Shortstop). Another new RI Devil addition for 2022. Alan is definitely a top catcher in his grade with a canon behind the plate.

Big thanks to Coach Joe of the RI Devils Baseball Organization for spotlighting these 5 student athletes that will be part of the Winter College Showcase Event on Thursday January 20th. The event takes place at Pawtucket’s ATC Facility, 245 Esten Ave, Pawtucket from 7-9pm. As of this morning (January 13th), about 11 area schools have committed to attending this showcase. The RIBBE is positive stories, photos, videos, and responsible social media posts. The RIBBE is an information resource for families looking for an AAU team or a summer camp or a great place to buy a first baseman’s mitt. The RIBBE is a network of coaches, tournament directors, parents, leagues, and baseball junkies whose passion of the game of baseball is unquestioned. I believe that providing expert analysis, information and directions to ballfields, and coaching advice from some of the top RI baseball minds will help promote the game of baseball here in RI to a whole new level.
