Army vs Navy Baseball Game At Cardines Field Scheduled for Friday September 17
I just received a press release from Newport Gulls Director of Operations Michael Falcone. In the release, it broadcasts that the 4th Annual Cardines Classic Baseball Game will take place Friday September 17th at Cardines Field, Newport. Falcone goes on to write “The (Newport) Gulls have assisted the military in planning the event and would love to see some familiar faces as well as share this to your friends and baseball / historical enthusiasts looking for some Friday evening plans! Admission is FREE and First Pitch will ensue at 5:30 PM.

Michael also included a program for the game with some historical perspective by Dr. David Kohnen, Ph.D., Cmdr. (ret.), U.S. Navy on the Cardines connection and the history of this Army vs Navy game.
Big thanks to Michael Falcone and the Newport Gulls for helping to coordinate the 4th Annual Cardines Classic. Game is scheduled for this upcoming Friday, September 17th. Gates open at 4:30pm and First Pitch is scheduled for 5:30pm. Admission is free and open to the public for this event.
Please note, original game was scheduled for Friday September 10th. It was rescheduled due to poor field conditions after it rained last week here in Rhode Island. Game is set for Friday September 17th.
