Rumford Little League’s Wounded Warrior Tournament set for October 9th through 11th
Rumford Little League will be hosting the Wounded Warrior Tournament at their home fields at Kimberly Ann Rock Complex in Rumford. This exciting baseball tournament is an annual tradition in Rumford and draws teams from all over the state of RI in the 10U and 12U divisions. It takes place the weekend of October 9th, 10th, and 11th this year. According to Rumford Little League President, Eddie Wencis, “…The proceeds will go to the wounded warriors foundation, which is something near and dear to me, as I am a veteran of 9 years and served with the US Navy Seabees during that time. I believe some of you were also veterans and I thank you for your service.”

According to the official website of the Wounded Warrior Project, “The WWP mission is to honor and empower Wounded Warriors who incurred a physical or mental injury, illnesses, or wound, co-incident to your military service on or after September 11, 2001. ” Rumford Little League proudly displays the Wounded Warrior Project logo on the backstop of their first majors field, Lindberg Field, as you drive into the baseball complex.
If your league is interested in participating in the 2020 Wounded Warrior Tournament, contact Eddie Wencis via email at president@rumfordll.com. Eddie and his Rumford Little League volunteers will be setting up the fields and concession area to be safety compliant for the tournament. Good luck to all the players, coaches, and families participating this year.
