Rhode Island Connie Mack Baseball Season in Full Swing

Connie Mack is a great opportunity for Rhode Island High School baseball players to showcase their talents on some of the best baseball fields RI has to offer. It is a wooden bat league as well, which to me gives it sort of an amateur league/New England Collegiate/Cape Cod type feel to the games. Teams from all over the state compete against each other from Chariho to Tiverton, West Warwick to Slocum, East Providence to Cranston and several stops in between.

The Rhode Island Connie Mack Baseball League was on hold, like most sports leagues here in Rhode Island all Spring. I had messaged Coach Ed Holloway of Bishop Hendricken High School this Spring about the upcoming season, schedule, and game locations to help promote the league. Finally, around the end of June, Coach Holloway and the league got the green light from the State of RI’s Reopening RI plan to begin playing games and league play.

There are 11 teams competing this summer in the RI Connie Mack Baseball League. Each team will play 10 league games both home and away. Then, playoffs (all 11 teams will be entered this summer) to determine the 2020 RI Connie Mack baseball league champion. You can follow along this summer, find out about league standings, check schedules, even get game recaps by clicking this link – RI Connie Mack Baseball. Here are the 11 teams participating this summer:

  • Cranston Bulldogs
  • Slocum Baseball
  • Flood Ford
  • Chariho
  • East Greenwich
  • East Providence
  • Tiverton
  • Warwick PAL
  • West Warwick
  • Coventry
  • Narragansett-South Kingstown

With the season just about at the halfway point, there is still plenty of time this summer to catch a Connie Mack Baseball Game.
